The President of Remnant Bible Institute, Dr. Micheal Spencer, has an interesting and profound theory when it comes to preconceived notions about being a bible college student:

"Bible College is the fastest and easiest place to BACKSLIDE."

I know, I know…takes your breath away, doesn't it? I mean, how in the world can this be true? After all, you have given up the pleasures of this world and normal desires to pursue a biblical education! You are heavily involved with your local church, actively en...

We know that the Word of God says that “the harvest is ready but the laborers are few” referring to those that have yet to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  We also know that as the Body of Christ, we are intended to be the laborers that are mentioned, but sometimes assuming the role and responsibility of such can be overwhelming.  I don’t think I’m alone in having thoughts of “what is the perfect way to lead someone to Jesus?” or “I know they can be reached because I was, but HOW do I do it?”

My beautiful wife is three days shy of being 38 weeks pregnant. Nature can take its course and my wife can literally go into labor as I write this devotional, so if it ends randomly mid-sentence…you know why.

Just yesterday, my wife walked into a room with a few of our friends and myself. She began asking the questions that I’ve been hearing for the past 10-12 weeks: “Why are you wearing a long sleeve?” (Because it’s 60 degrees outside and there’s a cold breeze) “Aren’t you sweating in that outf...

Have you ever looked at people around you and wished you could do what they could do? Or had that one friend or person in your family that could do EVERYTHING? I used to look at everyone around me and be so upset that I couldn't do things the way that they could. I’ve recently been having revelations about who I am and let me tell you…. It is life-changing. Let’s start with saying this: God created you for a reason. If you were meant to be that other person, then God wouldn't have created you. B...

Often times we get so caught up in the busyness this world has to offer that we become overwhelmed. We wear many "hats" and social media portrays many people as "having it together”, to the point of causing us to feel as if we are failing if we have a day where everything doesn't get done. In Zechariah 4:6, the bible states, “Not by (your) might, nor by power, but by My Spirit.” This is something as believers in Christ that we need to recognize. The feeling of fear and inadequacy are the feeling...

Most of us have sat in a church service and heard a sermon about not being ruled by our flesh. How many times have we responded to that sermon by saying to ourselves “that’s not me they’re talking about” or “I don’t live in sin, so my flesh isn’t ruling me”? The scripture says to discipline our bodies and bring our flesh into subjection. Think about the last time you were driving and someone cut you off and you had to slam on the brakes. Or how about the time you were fasting and someone asked i...

There is a huge misconception about what worship is in the body of Christ today. When we think of worship, we think of the part of the Sunday service when the worship team brings us into the presence of God, we cry at the altar, and wait for someone to hopefully give us a life changing prophecy. If the worship is bad that Sunday, then “it’s the Worship Leader’s fault and a move of God didn’t happen in my life because they chose the wrong songs, right? I don’t know the lyrics to the song, so I gu...

Everybody loves the thought of being "called by God." When we say it, we feel a sense of undeniable purpose. Our life now suddenly has meaning - a reason to breathe, a reason to learn and a reason to grow. The unfortunate thing is that we have reduced the call of God to a cute little saying or hashtag, instead of truly understanding the weight it really carries.

Paul says the following in Ephesians 4:1:

"Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling,...
